Joe Swail’s in town and he’s right on Cue!
Joe Swail, the internationally renowned snooker player, is resting his cue to support the Learn to Sign campaign this year. From Northern Ireland, Joe together with the Mayor of Belfast will be turning on the switch to a projection of images onto the City’s Europa Hotel building on Friday 6th October at 6.30pm.
The images that will adorn the Belfast skyline will include artwork from both the Deaf and hearing community. After the colourful projection event, the Europa Hotel will then site the largest pub quiz for the Sign Community in Northern Ireland.
Joe, who is hard-of-hearing and has a Deaf brother, explained: “I’m so honoured to be part of such a worthwhile campaign. Signing can be fun to learn for hearing people and very useful too! We hope that one day; every child will be able to learn this language as part of their curriculum, just like French!”
